The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia (UGA) is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Applied Aquaculture and Fish Health. Position Overview
The successful candidate will develop an impactful program that bridges scientific research and industry application to support the aquaculture sector in Georgia and beyond. The position is structured around the following responsibilities:
- Teaching (35%): Instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in aquaculture and aquatic disease management, advise students, and contribute to UGA’s online Master of Natural Resources program.
- Research (30%): Build an externally funded, applied research program addressing fish health, pathology, and sustainable aquatic systems.
- Outreach (30%): Design and deliver extension programs, workshops, and educational materials for aquaculture producers, state/federal agencies, and extension agents.
- Service (5%): Participate in departmental committees and professional societies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- A Ph.D. in aquatic animal health, aquaculture production, fish pathology, or a closely related field.
- A strong record of research excellence and peer-reviewed publications.
