Research Focus & Marine Science Scope
EuroMarine fellowships support collaborative interdisciplinary research addressing urgent European and global ocean science challenges:
- Pelagic & Benthic Ecosystem Dynamics: Assessing marine biodiversity loss, food web structures, and macro-ecological shifts under ocean warming and acidification.
- Blue Carbon & Coastal Biogeochemistry: Quantifying carbon burial rates in seagrass meadows, salt marshes, and kelp forests.
- Sustainable Fisheries & Marine Policy: Integrating ecosystem-based fisheries management, marine protected area (MPA) networks, and ocean conservation policy.
Fellowship Features & Mobility Support
- Eligible Institutions: Member oceanographic laboratories across France, Germany, Spain, Norway, Portugal, Italy, and partner European nations.
- Support: Individual research grants, international mobility funding, specialized summer school access, and collaborative workshop sponsorship.
- Target Group: PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career marine researchers within 5 years of doctoral completion.
