Educational Qualifications & Experience
Each position requires specific educational qualifications and experience:
Project Associate-I
Essential Qualification: M.F.Sc. with specialization in fisheries resource management, fish genetics and breeding, fish biotechnology, aquatic animal health, fish pathology and microbiology OR M.Sc. in marine biology, ocean science and technology, zoology, biological sciences, or life sciences.
Desirable Skills:
- Working knowledge in integrative fish taxonomy, fish cell culture, and molecular techniques
- Field experience in marine exploration and documentation or onboard experience
- Research publications in peer-reviewed international journals
Note: This project demands extensive sampling, exploratory surveys (including scuba) across Indian Waters including islands, besides having to participate in cruises.
Young Professional-I (Technical)
Essential Qualification: M.F.Sc./M.Sc. in Fisheries Resource Management, Aquatic Environment Management, or Zoology
Desirable: Candidates with professional/working experience in ichthyotaxonomy, fish biology, and water quality analysis at a reputed lab/organization/University.
Young Professional-I (Administrative)
Essential Qualification: M.Sc./M.Com./MA/MCA with good working knowledge of computers and experience in office administration, letter drafting, etc.
Age Limits & Eligibility Criteria
The age requirements for the positions are as follows:
- Project Associate-I: Maximum 35 years
- Young Professional-I: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years
Age relaxation is available for OBC Non-creamy layer/SC/ST/PwD candidates as per Government of India norms.

- The primary place of work will be at ICAR-NBFGR, PAGR Centre, Kochi. However, project personnel may have to work at ICAR-NBFGR, HQ, Lucknow from time to time
