INVE Aquaculture is seeking a talented Business Development Manager to lead strategic initiatives in the marine fish sector across the Asia-Pacific region and China.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for aquaculture professionals with experience in fish larval production to drive business growth, identify new markets, and develop sustainable sales strategies in one of the world’s most dynamic regions for aquaculture development.

Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager position is central to INVE’s growth strategy in the marine fish sector. The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement strategic diversification plans focused on financial growth in both existing and new aquaculture markets
  • Transform opportunistic sales into sustainable business relationships
  • Collaborate closely with the China Area Manager to build comprehensive 5-year business plans
  • Drive market expansion and product adoption across the APAC and China regions

Key Responsibilities

Area Responsibilities
Market Research Conduct thorough research to identify new fish markets, business areas, and customer needs
Business Planning Create development plans with clear objectives, strategies, and action plans for entering new business opportunities
Product Strategy Work with Product Management Fish and Technical Support teams to identify appropriate product portfolios and implement regional farming protocols
Sales Development Establish sales potentials and targets for new opportunities across regions and industries
Business Implementation Execute action plans until business is established, then manage roll-out and handover to sales teams
Client Relations Arrange business meetings with prospective customers and promote company products and services
Internal Coordination Work with different departments to compile necessary tools for successful implementation of action plans
Reporting Report to Regional Sales Director on identified potentials and collaborate on prioritizing action plans

Qualifications and Experience

Category Requirements
Technical Experience
  • Proven experience in fish larval production
  • Understanding of marine fish farming techniques and challenges
Business Intelligence
  • Existing network knowledge in the Chinese aquaculture industry
  • Strategic analysis experience
  • Understanding of market trends in marine fish farming
Communication Skills
  • Excellent communication skills with third parties from all backgrounds
  • Adaptability to different environments
  • Fluency in local language(s) and English – excellent written and verbal communication
Project Management
  • 3-5 years proven experience in strategy and marketing
  • Experience establishing and implementing action plans (GOST: Goal, Strategy, Objective, and Target setting)
  • Experience in an international commercial environment
  • Good knowledge of platforms, tools and systems including MS Office
