Introduction:
Yesterday, our book Recent
Updates in Molecular Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology of Fish-An
imperative step in aquaculture was released by Springer publisher at Springer.com. This
book contains a total 21 chapters related to different aspects of molecular endocrinology
and reproductive physiology of fishes. This
book is offerings an updated extensive assembly of different key aspects
associated with the reproductive endocrine system of fish such as endocrine
regulation of key events associated with reproduction such as vitellogenesis,
sex hormones and gonad developments, sex determination etc. Reproductive
endocrinology with respect to gene regulation and small RNA is also amalgamated
to provide detailed insight on how omics regulates the endocrine system. How
external factors such as dietary supplements, climate, contaminants etc impact
the reproductive system, is a burning issue in today’s generation. This book has also covered the reproductive
biology of some key species.
We would like to express our
heartfelt gratitude and respect to all contributors who have contributed to
this book in the form of their chapters. Indeed, it is our utmost pleasure to
acknowledge all the people behind the completion of this book. It was not
possible to complete this work without their continuous encouragement and
support. To best our knowledge, this is first book on Molecular Endocrinology
and Reproductive Physiology of Fish.
Ø A total twenty
one chapters are present in this volume
Ø First category
or unit of chapters are dealing with steroidogenesis pathways of fishes
Ø Second unit is related with reproductive biology of
different fish species
Ø 3rd unit provide detailed information about Molecular Endocrinology and Physiology of fishes
Ø Fourth unit is dealing
with endocrine disruptors chemical (EDC)
Ø Last but not least
unit is associated with impact of climate changes and anthropogenic activities
on fish reproduction.
