RGCA is dedicated to spearheading commercial and frontier aquaculture technologies in India. With specialized operational facilities including the Tiger Shrimp (*Penaeus monodon*) Broodstock Multiplication Centre in the Andaman Islands, Mud Crab (*Scylla serrata*) hatcheries in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, Seabass (*Lates calcarifer*) seed production complexes, and aquatic pathogen diagnostic laboratories, RGCA drives India’s blue economy export initiatives.
Key Project Focus & Operational Domains
- Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) Shrimp Propagation: Maintenance of nuclear breeding centers, selective breeding, biosecurity quarantine, and high-health post-larvae production.
- Marine Finfish Hatchery & Open-Sea Farming: Induced maturation, larval rearing, and nursery rearing of Asian Seabass, Cobia, Silver Pompano, and Groupers.
- Mud Crab & Shellfish Aquaculture: Commercial seed production of *Scylla serrata*, crablet nursery rearing, and soft-shell crab farming protocols.
- Aquatic Animal Health Management: Advanced molecular surveillance (PCR, qPCR, NGS), biosafety monitoring, and aquatic disease epidemiology.
- Live Feed Culture: Mass-scale culture and enrichment of microalgae (*Chaetoceros*, *Tetraselmis*), rotifers, and *Artemia*.

Work Locations & Posting
