🔍 About the PhD Fellowship
This is a 3-year (or optionally 4-year) full-time PhD position in Fish Physiology, focused on understanding mitochondrial efficiency in fish gills under environmental stressors. The research will use advanced imaging and next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies to investigate mitochondrial dysfunction and its effect on fish health.
You will work with two model fish species, diving deep into mitochondria-rich tissues to understand how stress impacts cellular functions.

🎓 Eligibility and Qualification Requirements

- Master’s degree (MSc) in Biosciences, preferably with a focus on:
- Molecular Biology
- Genomics
- Cell Biology
- Biotechnology
- Solid academic record with grade B or above (ECTS scale A-E)
- Experience with:
- Next-generation sequencing (NGS)
- Big data handling
- R programming language
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Non-EU/EEA applicants must provide NOKUT approval of their degree
- Applicants must not already hold a PhD degree
