Fisheries Dept Jobs: ₹70,000/Month — Deadline Oct 28!

The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, has opened 4 contractual posts in its IT infrastructure and cyber security cell in New Delhi — and the clock is short. Applications close on 28 October 2026 at 5:00 PM.

Read this carefully before you apply: these are IT and cyber-security roles inside the Department of Fisheries — not fisheries-science research posts. They suit B.Tech/MCA professionals with network, cyber-security or NIC-application experience who want to work on the digital backbone of India’s fisheries administration.

  • At least one globally recognised certification such as CCNA or CCNP.
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience in the Central Government and/or Central PSUs.

Young Professional (NIC Application Support)

  • B.Tech. (CSE/IT/EC/EIC) or MCA, with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • At least one globally recognised certification such as CCNA or CCNP.
  • Skills in the government e-governance ecosystem, NIC applications, eOffice, MeghRaj Cloud, Linux and Windows server basics, databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL/MSSQL), DNS and SSL management, Digital Signature Certificates, government cloud operations support, application deployment, ITIL incident management and helpdesk operations.

What the Work Involves

The consultants will support the Department’s cyber-security posture and IT infrastructure: Security Operations Centre monitoring through EDR, UEM, SIEM and SOAR tools; malware analysis, threat hunting, digital forensics and incident response; enterprise network administration; support for NIC-hosted applications and services such as eOffice, Bharat VC, gov.in email, Sandes and MeghRaj cloud; and IT support during high-level government meetings and events.

How to Apply

  1. Download the official notification and the prescribed application format (Annexure-II) from the Department of Fisheries portal, dof.gov.in.
  2. Fill in the proforma with accurate personal, educational, experience and certification details.
  3. Prepare an updated CV in World Bank format and compile supporting documents — educational and experience certificates, Aadhaar, global/training certificates and police verification, as listed in the notification.
  4. Send the completed application form, CV and scanned supporting documents by email to the address given in the official notification, on or before 28 October 2026 at 5:00 PM.
  5. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview and must produce their bio-data and original certificates for verification at that stage.

Important: This is a purely contractual engagement — it does not lead to regular government appointment. No application fee is specified in the notification summaries; verify that point in the official notification itself. Because the deadline is only days away, check the official notification on dof.gov.in today and do not rely on second-hand summaries alone.

Why This Matters

At Rs. 70,000 a month, the Young Professional posts here pay well above the usual ICAR Young Professional scale of Rs. 30,000–42,000 — because these are specialist IT consultant engagements, not research fellowships. For network and cyber-security professionals, it is a rare chance to work inside the central ministry that runs PMMSY and India’s fisheries schemes, with SOC, NIC and e-governance exposure that is hard to get elsewhere in government contracting.

All post, pay and deadline details above were checked on 25 October 2026 against the official advertisement number and two independent job-notification summaries (FreeJobAlert and FreshersLive, both published 15 October 2026) that agree on every figure; the official notification on dof.gov.in remains the final authority.
