PhD Scholarships & Financial Support

All selected PhD candidates will receive a fully funded scholarship with a gross annual stipend of €16,243, paid monthly and inclusive of national insurance contributions.

• Additional scholarships may become available during the selection phase through external sponsors.
• Some scholarships funded by external partners may require additional interviews or specific research alignment.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

The PhD call is open to all nationalities with no age restrictions. Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications (or obtain it by October 31, 2025):

• An Italian degree awarded before the Ministerial Decree 509/99
• An Italian Laurea Specialistica or Laurea Magistrale
• A foreign equivalent degree, validated by the selection committee (translated into English or Italian)

Even final-year students who will graduate by the deadline can apply.

Selection Process

The admission process is merit-based and consists of:

• Evaluation of academic qualifications
• Written and/or oral exams (as outlined in each program’s Annex “A”)
• Interview schedules and criteria provided in official annexes

Final rankings will consider academic excellence, research potential, and interview performance. Socioeconomic background or disabilities may be considered in case of tie-breakers.
