Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to domestic and international candidates who:

• Hold an Italian Laurea Magistrale or equivalent pre-2004 Italian degree
• Possess a foreign second-cycle degree (Master’s level) qualifying for doctoral studies in their home country
• Expect to complete the required qualification by October 31, 2025

For foreign degrees – You must submit one of the following:

• Diploma Supplement
• Dichiarazione di Valore
• CIMEA certification

PhD Scholarship Types

The University of Tuscia offers:

• General fully funded scholarships (with or without topic-specific themes)
• Company-affiliated scholarships for applied research
• Non-funded positions for self-supported candidates

Eligibility Notes

• You cannot apply for a second funded position if you have already received a PhD scholarship in Italy or abroad.
• If you already hold a PhD, you may apply for a different research area without scholarship funding.
• Late or email submissions will not be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria for PhD Admission

Anyone holding one of the following degrees is eligible to apply, regardless of nationality:

• Pre-reform “Diploma di Laurea” (Italian equivalent of Master’s)
• Post-reform Laurea Specialistica or Laurea Magistrale
• Second-level AFAM degree (Arts, Music, and Dance)

Guidelines for International Applicants

Students holding degrees from non-Italian universities are welcome! Your qualifications must be equivalent to an Italian second-cycle (Master’s level) degree.

Required Documents for International Students:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree certificates
• Academic transcripts
• Diploma Supplement or Declaration of Value (DoV)
• Certified translations (if documents are not in English or Italian)

Incomplete or untranslated documents may lead to disqualification.
