PhD Scientist Role in Molecular Biology – Responsibilities

As a core member of KeyGene’s collaborative research environment, your role will include:

• Performing advanced molecular biology techniques: PCR, qPCR, cloning, nucleic acid isolation, transformation, etc.
• Evaluating and implementing novel lab protocols and experimental techniques.
• Leading internal R&D projects aligned with KeyGene’s long-term research goals.
• Managing client-based research projects with scientific accuracy and timely delivery.
• Documenting all experiments in a clear and organized manner.
• Mentoring junior staff and overseeing daily activities in the greenhouse.
• Collaborating closely with internal teams, academic partners, and industry clients.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification:

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Plant Breeding, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related discipline.

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Solid hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques.
• Familiarity with vegetatively propagated crops and plant tissue culture.
• Understanding of integrated pest and nutrient management is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to challenges, and work in a team-driven environment.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. (Remote work is not permitted.)
