PhD Program Structure and Requirements

This is a full-time, 4-year doctoral program. Requirements for successful completion include:

• Completion of 30 ECTS doctoral coursework
• Execution of independent research
• Participation in at least 2 academic conferences (1 must be international)
• Publication of at least 2 peer-reviewed articles
• Successful dissertation defense

Optional Thesis Format

Your doctoral thesis may consist of 4 published research articles indexed in Clarivate Analytics (Impact Factor journals).

About the PhD Program

The MAP-ID (Multilevel Approaches to Understanding Chronic Inflammatory Diseases) Doctoral Programme is funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (Horizon Europe). This international research initiative focuses on innovative strategies to tackle chronic inflammatory diseases—responsible for over 50% of global deaths.

Hosted by the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences at Jagiellonian University (JU), this program offers 48-month doctoral projects in cutting-edge scientific fields including:
